The white-bellied sea eagle is a large bird of prey found along coasts and waterways in Southeast Asia, northern Australia, and the Pacific. Recognizable by its white underbelly and dark wings, it primarily hunts fish but will also take birds and small mammals. These eagles build large nests in tall trees near water, where they can easily spot prey from above.

A fun fact about the white-bellied sea eagle is that it can dive at speeds of up to 80 kilometres per hour to snatch fish from the water—talk about fast food delivery! This majestic bird also waits patiently for the opportunity to steal prey from other raptors to feed its family. In addition, the sea eagle is the totem of Margaux, symbolizing strength, courage, and the ability to rise above challenges.
