Bird
The galah, also known as the rose-breasted cockatoo, is one of Australia’s most iconic and widespread bird species. Recognisable by their vibrant pink and grey plumage, galahs are highly social and often seen in noisy flocks across open woodlands, grasslands, and urban areas. They feed on seeds, nuts, and grains, sometimes to the dismay of farmers. Known for their playful and cheeky behaviour, galahs are skilled fliers and acrobats, often engaging in mid-air flips and games with their companions. Their name has even entered Australian slang, where calling someone a "galah" affectionately implies they’re acting silly or foolish!
